Economy - Purposeful Livelihoods
As we reach the global peak of oil production and move beyond it we know that the demand will start to outstrip supply causing the prices in fuel and food to go up disproportionately to other household expenses.
The affect of this will put further and further emphasis on creating a more sustainable and resilient local economy. Obviously the production of local food features highly within this but also in the creation of more sustainable businesses and transition enterprises as we encourage more people to trade locally and use local suppliers whilst reducing their carbon footprint in the process.
The Purposeful Livelihood Sub Group is keen to create and extend links to the local Ivybridge Chamber of Commerce, Town Team and other like minded organizations keen to create a more resilient and sustainable economy for the PL:21 area.
If you would like to know how you could get involved with this sub group and put forward some potential projects in order to create more Purposeful Livelihoods we would be delighted to hear from you why not contact us now.
