Transition Initiatives
The Transition Town movement was co-founded by Rob Hopkins and Naresh Giangrande in Totnes, Devon, UK in 2006. Where 6 months of awareness raising events on the subject of Peak Oil and Climate Change culminated in the unleashing of the first initiative in the September of that year on their local town.
Since then the movement has grown exponentially to where we are today with just over 700 initiatives worldwide, either fully operational or in the process of mulling over the concept. Many people have been captivated by the simplicity of the idea and can easily see where their particular skill set fits in, helping the process along.
