Transport - Petroleum Lite
Some interesting ideas and developments are popping up as regards a potential Sustainable Transport Sub Group for PL:21 as discussions start with the Ivybridge Chamber of Commerce over a potential community bus idea.
In November 2008 PL:21 ran its first Petroleum Lite Transport Day - Featuring talks on Ivybridge's current Bus and Rail links, How to Drive More Energy Efficiently, Cycling With The Use of a Brompton Bike and Future Multimodal Transport Systems for Ivybridge. We also ran a Parish Linked Cycle Ride where we connected the parish centres that make up the Ivybridge District, Cornwood, Harford, Ugborough and Ermington via an 18 mile route. Highlighting the fact that any sustainable solution for Ivybridge has to include the surrounding area.
We'd be interested in talking with anyone interested in more sustainable transport solutions for the PL:21 area, including any car share schemes and potential community bus ideas, to work with us and the town to create viable solutions. Please contact Simon now if you have any ideas or want to get involved.
